The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also officially known as the National Aquatics Center, and colloquially known as theWater Cube, is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Despite its nickname, the building is not an actual cube, but a cuboid (a rectangular box). Ground was broken on December 24, 2003, and the Center was completed and handed over for use on January 28, 2008. Swimmers at the Water Cube broke 25 world records during the 2008 Olympics.
I think that the best project is the National Swimming Center or "Water Cube" because is a sustentable building whit a perfect desing and technological materials.
Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
The Seven Wonders of the World (or the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) refers to remarkable constructions of classical antiquity listed by various authors in guidebooks popular among the ancient Hellenic tourists, particularly in the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The most prominent of these, the versions by Antipater of Sidon and an observer identified as Philon of Byzantium, comprise seven works located around the Mediterranean rim. This constrution were: The Great Pyramid at Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Pharos Lighthouse near Alexandria, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, and the Colossus of Rhodes.
My favorite building of the seven wonders of the ancient world is The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus because this building was built by best sculptors and architects of this time, also was built in honor a Mausolo by his wife Artemisa
Seven Wonders of the Modern World
New Seven Wonders of the World was a project that attempted to update the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World concept with a modern list of wonders. This wonders are: Great Wall of China, Petra, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, Colosseum and Taj mahal.
Of seven wonders the modern world, my favorite is The Taj Mahal, because it is an architectural monument with a style that combine elements from Persian, Islamic and Indian architectural styles and was built by MughalemperorShah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal when died during the birth of their 14th child. Mumtaz Mahal was the wife most loved by emperor who suffered a lot with the death of his wife and decided to make a mausoleum so big and beautiful as the love he had her.
